"I AM JERUSALEM", about the book...

The book, entitled "I am Jerusalem" is the memoir of retired dental surgeon John Tleel. Born in Jerusalem, to a long-standing Palestinian Greek Orthodox family, Tleel of life in Jerusalem from the 1930's through the 1970's. The book is made up of personal memoirs, historical background of many of the events of this period, and in-depth description of many of the places and people in Jerusalem. One of the unique focuses of the book is the descriptions of the Greek Orthodox monastries, churches, and religious ceremonies.

A Biography of Dr. John N. Tleel (1928-2018)

John N. Tleel was born in Beit-Jala on August 3, 1928. He was Rum (Greek) Orthodox Palestinian. He is the author of I AM JERUSALEM
a self published memoir (2000). He wrote a number of articles concerning the Holy City of Jerusalem, and extracts from this book appeared in various publications. Dr. N. Tleel was a recipient of several awards and decorations. Dr. Tleel passed away in his beloved city Jerusalem on May 1st 2018.
